RJ Power subscribes to NEDeRS® (National Equipment Defect Reporting Scheme), a live database and reporting portal that updates the industry with equipment defects to support safe operation of an electricity network. This allows the business to communicate any restrictions and equipment failures that may compromise the customers’ own NED works.

Managed by the Electricity Networks Association (ENA), NEDeRS® allows us access to 47,000 reports of electrical equipment defects from service providers, industrial users and electrical equipment manufacturers. Our subscription gains us unlimited access to the NEDeRS® web pages, and we are emailed updated information whenever a report is issued. The system contains photographs, diagrams, associated documentation and contact numbers for the majority of the plant items registered in the application.

Many new designs have the same failure mode and manufacturers are frequently challenged on the basis of information provided by NEDeRS®. The scheme avoids delays from manufacturers in notifying users of potential problems, saving time and money.
