The Bid Coordinator will take ownership of coordinating and delivering technically robust, commercially competitive and compliant tenders across RJ Power Networks’ HV/LV projects. The role requires strong technical understanding, attention to detail and an ability to integrate inputs from engineering, estimating, SHEQ and commercial teams to produce winning proposals.
EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in estimating for ICP or utility infrastructure projects
- Experience coordinating and producing technical/commercial bids
- Understanding of HV/LV networks or electrical engineering
- Ability to interpret specifications, drawings and tender documents
- Strong writing skills for method statements and technical narratives
- Excellent planning, organisation, and time management
- Familiarity with NEC/JCT forms of contract
- Familiarity with construction, utilities or infrastructure sectors
- Relevant technical or construction-related qualification
Job description
- Take ownership of the bid lifecycle from receipt of enquiry through to submission
- Interpret tender documentation, identify deliverables and communicate requirements to internal stakeholders
- Work closely with estimators, engineers and commercial staff to develop accurate, compliant, and technically sound bids
- Prepare technical method statements, delivery strategies and supporting documents, drawing on subject-matter experts as needed
- Lead bid programme planning, coordinating inputs to ensure deadlines are met
- Assess client specifications, standards, and pre-construction information to ensure submissions are technically compliant
- Identify commercial and contractual risks during the bid stage and escalate appropriately
- Collate project delivery evidence, case studies and technical data to strengthen proposals
- Develop and maintain a structured library of technical responses, CVs and project references
- Support client clarifications, presentations and interviews following submission
- Act as a central point of contact for bid queries, driving accountability across the bid team
